The London Souls

In November, I saw The London Souls supporting Catfish and The Bottlemen at the Manchester Apollo.

Their music was hard to hear, the sound wasn’t good but their rhythm really appealed to something inside me. There were obvious links to the likes of The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix as well as many other admirable musicians.

The lead vocalist played guitar extremely skilfully. Each song has a noticeable influence from other genres and Tash’s voice changed to welcome this. With only 2 members, the music worked very well.

They’re a two piece rock band from New York that formed in 2008. They released their 13 track album: “Here Come The Girls” in July 2015. After hearing them live I naturally went and found them on Spotify. I began listening to the album and straight away added their songs to my favourite playlist and have been listening to them on repeat since. They sound a hell of a lot better on recording and their album covers tracks from chilled, melodic to heavy, guitar solo rock.

A few of my favourite tracks are:
When I’m with you
Honey
The River
Valerie
Bobby James

I’d keep my eye on them and have a listen if I were you.
